The tax tables for each version have been updated using the Aust Tax Office PAYG Withholding tax formula for salary or wage payments to employees made between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2012. This is the period during which the Flood Levy applies. For details of the flood levy see

Background: When you purchase a MYOB® product with payroll, you receive a set of current tax tables as part of the package. These tables are created by MYOB Australia (based on the tax office formula) and reside in the same folder as the main exe program in a file appropriately called 'pay2myob.bin'. Before using the Payroll function, you must 'load' a set of tax tables into your company data file. Once loaded, MYOB® will use these tables when processing payroll, until replaced by a new set of tax tables.
The problem is tax tables become out of date whenever tax rates change. New tax tables are not separately available as a download from MYOB Australia. You must upgrade to a new version of MYOB® or take out cover under their support program to receive the latest 'pay2myob.bin' file as part of the Compliance Updates. Since Accounting Plus™ Version 14 and Premier® Version 8, the 'pay2myob.bin' file has been specially formatted and you can no longer manually edit it as tax rates change. Additionally, each version is formatted differently, so you can't use a 'pay2myob.bin' file formatted for Version 19 with say Version 16.
With the Mac version (AccountEdge®) the tax table file is called MYOB Tax Tables or in v9 and 9.5 has a .tax extension. Everything else though is the same and all the comments here apply equally to the Mac version.
Note: The updated tax tables available exclusively from www.fghtables.com are a substitute for MYOB Australia's 'pay2myob.bin' file. Our tables have been tested and will work with all the above mentioned MYOB® versions. They are primarily designed for those users who want to continue to use their existing versions of MYOB® and have current tax rates without the need to upgrade. It should be noted that there is nothing in your licence agreement that prevents you using 3rd party tax tables.
Flood Levy:
The Flood Levy introduced for the 2012 income year requires substantial changes to PAYG tax tables due to the fact that the levy will not apply to all employees. Tax tables need to cater for those how have to pay the levy as well as for those employees who are exempt - note 'exempt' employees means those who don't have to pay the levy because they were directly affected by the floods (see
www.ato.gov.au
for more information.) All others have to pay the levy, unless their income is less than $50,000 pa.
For the 2012 income year we are offering the following tax table options:
Option 1 - All employees pay the Flood Levy (except those whose income is below $50k).
Option 2 - All employees exempt from the Flood Levy.
Option 3 - Some employees pay and some are exempt from the Flood Levy.
You will need to decide which option is best for your circumstances. For most employers this will be Option 1. Option 1 includes the Flood Levy and is designed so that employees earning below the equivalent of $50k per annum are not charged the levy. Option 2 or 3 are only used where some or all of your employees will complete the Flood Levy Exemption Declaration. Before purchasing you should check what tables are included under each option on our Flood Levy page.
Installation:
Installation is simple. The tax tables and easy to follow instructions can be instantly downloaded after payment in most instances, or will be emailed to you. You will also receive a copy of the applicable Aust Tax Office Weekly Tax Table for you to check the accuracy of the calculations prior to use. After sales email support is available for any installation or setup issues you may encounter with our tables.
No changes are made to the MYOB® software. The only changes made are to the tax rates in your company data file that MYOB® calls upon to calculate PAYG Withholding when processing payroll.
The changes made by the updated tax tables are not permanent and can be reversed by reloading the tax tables from your current 'pay2myob.bin' file.
